Ragging reported from Alappuzha Medical College

Thursday, 19.11.2009, 01:53am (GMT)

Ambalappuzha: The first year students of Alappuzha Medical College have been ragged by the second years. The ragging was done on Monday night and Tuesday day time. It was done by the second year students who lingered about in the hostel, although their second year examination was over.
The incident came to light when a student’s face exposed marks of beating with hand on his cheek. Some students were forced to cut their hair. When the victims dared to report the matter to the authorities the college union intimidated them and forced them to settle the scores among themselves.
The anti-ragging squad in the college has also started its enquiry. The principal however said that she had not received any complaint so far.
