New service to Lakshadweep

Kozhikode: The Lakshadweep MP Hamdulla Syed said that a ship service with the capacity of 400 passengers will be soon started from Kerala. It will be part of the 100-day development project initiated by the UPA government at the Centre. The embarkation of the service will be from Kochi. , will commence its service from Kochi.
It was also announced that the administration has received permission to use the Navy's 'INS Garuda' stationed off Kochi to help provide emergency medical services to needy patients airlifted by copters to Kerala, Hamdullah, son of late Congress leader P M Syed, said.
