Saffron powder worth over Rs 20 lakh seized

Ten kilo worth Rs 20 lakh, powdered saffron seized today by Customs from two people who arrived at the Dubai International Airport Karipur.

The powder was found hidden in milk and cookie boxes in the luggage of two people during a raid by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence staff after a tip-off, sources from the airport.

The duo, identified as Abdul Rahman Farooq (40) and NP Noushad (35), district Kasaragod, came here by Air India Express. They were interviewed by DRI officials.
